[EVENT RECAP – MET Series #1]
The Center for Microeconomics Research and Dashboard successfully launched the first session of the Micro-Economica Talks (MET) Series, carrying the theme: “Just Transition & Climate Change: The Role of Social Protection and Impacts on Workers.”

Held over two insightful days: Wednesday, 19 March 2025 and Thursday, 20 March 2025. This event brought together students, researchers, and practitioners to critically explore the intersection of energy transition, climate policy, and social protection.

– Keynote Speaker: Ippei Tsuruga – Social Protection Programme Manager, International Labour Organization (ILO)
– Discussant: Qisha Quarina – Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, FEB UGM
– Moderator: Novat Pugo Sambodo – Lecturer, Department of Economics, FEB UGM

This first session of the MET Series sparked meaningful conversations on how inclusive and equitable social protection frameworks can support workers during the shift toward greener economies. The discourse emphasized the importance of aligning climate goals with labor market resilience and social justice.

Thank you to all participants for the enthusiastic engagement. We look forward to continuing the conversation in the upcoming MET Series events.
